HRDF Founder > Badiuddin Khan

BADIUDDIN KHAN is the Founder & Managing Trustee of the Human Resource Development Foundation (HRDF), a public charitable trust he registered in New Delhi, India, way back in 1988. The HRDF views human resource as basic to any kind of development - social, cultural, scientific and economic. And since 'development' in the ultimate analysis boils down to development of the human mind, Khan primarily focused on:

Prior to setting up the HRDF, Khan had served as editor of Invention Intelligence and Awishkar, popular monthly science magazines of National Research Development Corporation of India (NRDC-India). He was also associated with Science Reporter and Science-ki-Duniya, popular monthly magazines of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR-India), since their inception. Over the last 45 years he contributed over 300 popular science articles/news-reports in well-known newspapers and magazines-in English, Hindi and Urdu.

Over a decade ago the National Council for Science & Technology Communication, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, designated him as Master Resource Person for their program on 'Explaining the Scientific Basis of Miracles.' Subsequently, he conducted about 40 training workshops for teachers and social activists, nearly 150 public demonstrations including those in fairs, and over 100 classroom activity workshops for students. All this was part of his campaign against blind faith and superstition among the masses, which still continues.

Badiuddin Khan was educated in Science from Aligarh and Lucknow Universities in India. He is the author of Great Scientists, published by Academic India Publishers, New Delhi (1996) and co-author of Mantra, Magic and Miracle - A Scientific Exploration , published by Phoenix International Publishers, New Delhi (2004). Another book, The Pillars of Joy , written for the young, is on the Internet.

Khan was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award sponsored by the International Association of Educators for World Peace on the occasion of the '2004 Tertiary Education & Knowledge Summit' held in New Delhi on 30-31 December 2004.
